Bever

Bever im Winter

This enchanting Engadin village offers a holiday idyll for all the family. And casts everyone under its spell due to two of its most precious assets: tranquillity and nature.

In the very heart of the high-lying Engadin Valley is the charming village of Bever, which does nothing more passionately than tells stories – with its quaint gardens, its deep-set windows and its natural ice sculptures adorning the step railings, fences and guttering. And with its mighty, newly renovated church tower, which rises up towards the blue sky and boldly strikes the time, time that here seems to pass by at a more leisurely pace than elsewhere.

Those seeking peace and quiet should make their way to Spinas, situated four kilometres (2.5 miles) away at the southern portal of the Albula railway tunnel. Whether on foot by way of the perfectly prepared winter hiking path, on cross-country skis along the freshly cut trails or striking out on snowshoes – here the journey is the reward.
