Clean Energy Tour

Deeds rather than words: with its Total Energy Project, St. Moritz is setting new standards worldwide in the protection of nature and the environment by consistently promoting the production of renewable energy. Energy generated from hydroelectric, solar, wind and biogas sources is used from down in the valley (1,770m) right up to Piz Nair (3,057m). You can witness this effort on the Clean Energy Tour, which takes you past the special wind turbine on Munt da San Murezzan (2,666m), the 180 solar panels operated by the Corviglia Railway, and Switzerland’s oldest electric power station, which is under Lake St. Moritz and driven by hydropower. The tour also encompasses Norman Foster’s project in the heart of the village, and the spring providing warm water to the Badrutt's Palace Hotel.
