Bernina Trek

You do not have to stay the whole course to feel something of the excitement engendered by this tour. But the seven-day trek from one mountain hut to another is a very special adventure. Between early July and mid-September, the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) huts – known in Romansh as "chamannas" – are occupied by a caretaker, who also prepares snacks and meals for their guests. That means that you can travel with a relatively light rucksack. But if at some stage you feel that you have had enough, there are plenty of opportunities to break off the tour at various points near the road or a public transport access point.
