Mountain railways in Engadin St. Moritz
| A brief look at Bergbahnen Engadin St.Moritz | ||||||
|
Since 1907, the Engadin St. Moritz rail- and cableway organisation, Bergbahnen Engadin St. Moritz, has enabled both locals and visitors to Switzerland’s largest winter sport region to explore and experience the fabulous Engadin, from the valley right up to the high-lying alpine peaks. Whether for sport and fun in the snow, or hikes, bike tours and relaxation during the snow-free season, the conglomeration of 15 partner companies making up Bergbahnen Engadin St. Moritz offers an extensive network of diverse transport facilities in the sun-kissed Alpine region. Aerial cableways, funiculars, chairlifts, ski lifts and a gondola lift carry guests to lofty heights. With its 56 transportation systems, Bergbahnen Engadin St. Moritz provides unlimited opportunities to get to know and love the Engadin – including, in the winter, no fewer than 350 kilometres of pistes. Added to this is the rich choice of gastronomic outlets, ranging from trendy ice bars to elegant gourmet restaurants. The services on offer are rounded off with three of self-owned hotels and the Engadin Mountain Bike Tours in Celerina.
