In summer, festivals and other open-air events are on the agenda in many towns and villages. Among the absolute “must-sees” are the top events taking place during the refreshing mountain summer in Engadin St. Moritz. Whether concerts, operas, sailing or art, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Everything from opera to jazz to pop
This year’s production at the Opera St. Moritz, held at the Hotel Waldhaus in Sils, is Gaetano Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena”, which runs until 9 July.

From the middle of July until the middle of August, luminaries from the international jazz scene, such as the legendary vocal quartet, The Manhattan Transfer, will be performing at the Festival da Jazz. The concerts are being staged at the Dracula Club, which is opening its doors exclusively for the occasion.

The BSI Engadin Festival offers music lovers a series of first-class concerts. In 2011, this music festival focuses on string instruments, with concerts planned at a variety of venues in the Engadin. The unplugged concert by Seven promises to appeal to both the young and the young-at-heart, while Voices on Top also entices with such well-known names as Milow and Marla Glen. The Festival is scheduled to take place from 6–9 October in Pontresina.

Spectacular sights both on and beside Lake St. Moritz
The British Classic Car Meeting attracts a whole fleet of old-timer automobiles to St. Moritz. At the beginning of July, over 400 classic car owners are once again expected to join this spectacular convoy and delight automobile aficionados of all ages.

From 30 August to 4 September, Lake St. Moritz will be the scene of yet another exciting highlight, when the world’s sailing elite compete in the Match Race and treat visitors to a thrilling sight. As the viewing stand juts out over the water, spectators will be able to experience the action at close quarters.

Spotlight on art
Engadin St. Moritz will be transformed into a meeting place for art and culture lovers from 26 August and 4 September. At the St. Moritz Art Masters, regional, national and internationally acclaimed artists will exhibit their works in the Engadin. The Walk of Art invites visitors to discover and enjoy the various exhibits at unusual venues, such as in the Reformed Church in St. Moritz or by Lake St. Moritz.
