Muottas Muragl Philosophers’ Trail

Freshly prepared every day, this panoramic trail up on Muottas Muragl is also ideal for inexperienced winter walkers. Over the course of about an hour, it leads for seven glorious kilometres (4.5 miles) to the frozen mountain lake of Lej Muragls. Ten route markers bearing words of wisdom from great philosophers set you thinking. Of course it is up to you how long you linger with Socrates, Sartre or on one of the comfortable benches with woollen blankets, and how far you let your thoughts wander into the vast panorama of the Upper Engadin.
