FIS Alpine Ski World Championships 2017

St. Moritz has already staged four World Championships – in 1934, 1948, 1974 and 2003.

Thanks to the skills honed at the 2003 competition and a track record that is unrivalled worldwide, St. Moritz succeeded in winning over the FIS Council. There were many arguments in its favour: the layout of the pistes on the sunny slopes of the Corviglia is tried and tested; glamorous, cosmopolitan St. Moritz promises to pull in spectators in their multitudes; and the enthusiasm of the inhabitants of the Engadin guarantees a host of dedicated volunteers.
