FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2017

St. Moritz has already staged four World Championships: in 1934, 1948, 1974 and 2003. Now the Engadin, together with the Swiss skiing association Swiss Ski, is putting its energy into a new bid. Building on skills honed at the 2003 contest and a track record that is unrivalled worldwide, the partners are working hard behind the scenes at the candidature.  This contains plenty of persuasive arguments: the layout of the pistes on the sunny slopes of the Corviglia is tried and tested; glamorous, cosmopolitan St. Moritz pulls in spectators and audiences alike; and the enthusiasm of the people of the Engadin guarantees that there will be plenty of committed volunteers.
