The quest to find the fastest athlete on water returns to Silvaplana. Olympic Gold Medallists – World Champions - Legends – only the very best are present to kick off “BEST of 3”! Windsurfers versus Kitesurfers versus Sailors – who will finish on top and be the fastest in the events of Speed, Slalom and Racing.

In the line-up for this years “Best of 3” event is the legend himself Björn Dunkerbeck who has been crowned World Champion no less than 41 times. Alongside him are the best Swiss Windsurfers Karin Jaggi from Bern and Patrik Diethelm from Siebnen. Jaggi is a 15-time World Champion PWA and 10-time World Champion IFCA. She can yet again be found at the top of this years world ranking. Both these exceptional athletes are current holders of speed records in windsurfing.

Olly Bridge is the front face of the line-up for the Kitesurfers. He is the defending Champion of the Engadin Surf and Kitesurf Marathon event and is hot to stand his ground against this years opponents. The 15-year old has recently won the European Championships and is considered one of the biggest kitesurf talents world-wide. Steph Bridge, competing in the kitesurf „Best of 3“ event, is a 4-time World Champion and was named European Champion this year in the womens competition. Also in the line-up is Kitesurf World Champion Dirk Hanel from Germany and multiple Swiss Champion Daniel Rey.

Headlining the sailors in the Moth category is elite-athlete Matthias Renker, 4-time Alinghi Swiss Tour Match Race winner in St. Moritz and 7-time Swiss Champion and runner-up at the Juniors World Championships. Making another appearance at this years event is Philpp Käsermann who finished fourth in last years edition of the Engadinwind Marathon and an eye should be kept on experienced sailor Fabien Froesch.

Engadinwind is known as one of the most important aquatic sports events worldwide and is kicking off on the 13th of August with the “Best of 3” event. On the 14th of August the elite of Swiss Windsurfers will compete for the chance to call themselves Swiss Champions in the categories of Slalom and Formula-Racing. On the 17th of August the legendary Engadin Surf-, Kite- and Sailmarathon is going to take place. The Marathon is the oldest Windsurf regatta annually taking place on Lake Silvaplana. It will once again be exciting to see if the Kitesurfers are going to finish the 42km long Marathon quicker than the Windsurfers and Sailors on beautiful Lake Silvaplana. Engadinwind will be home to more than 200 athletes coming from various nations to compete in the amazing landscape of the Engadin.
