Museum Engiadinais, St. Moritz

Description

The Engadin’s domestic culture and history museum. Immerse yourself into life in the Engadin as it once was! A new electronic companion guide is now available to visitors as they make their way through the lovingly showcased historical rooms, recounting stories and anecdotes along the way.
After a complete revamp in 2015/16, the building designed as a museum in 1906 by architect Nikolaus Hartmann jun. has now re-opened. Its twenty-one rooms are home to a collection that is unique anywhere in Switzerland, featuring interiors compiled by the museum’s founder Riet Campell that date back five hundred years. The period rooms have now been complemented with various new permanent collections that include chests, caskets and coffers, as well as an entire room on the Romansh language itself.
With its engaging audiovisual presentation, the e-guide on tablet or smartphone is included in the admission price and contains lots of interesting facts and figures about the Engadin. It can also be personalised to suit each visitor’s particular interests and time constraints.
